Dr. Ariel was born and raised in Naples, FL, and she says the best part of her job is helping people feel excited about smiling again. Nothing makes her happier than seeing a patient’s face after they look at their smile for the first time after undergoing treatment. Why did you decide to
become a dentist?

When she was a child, Dr. Ariel had a few dental accidents—she fell down the stairs and ran into a friend while playing tag! Her two front teeth were yellow and grey due to the trauma, so when her permanent teeth erupted, she was ecstatic they were white. Taking care of her teeth was a big priority from a young age, and she knew she wanted to share that passion with others by becoming a dentist.

Where did you study dentistry?

After high school, Dr. Ariel continued on to the University of Florida for her Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating cum laude in 2012. She then earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Michigan, with the special recognition of the Comprehensive Care Award, which she received for her commitment to excellence in dentistry and patient care.

Even though she is out of school, her insatiable thirst for education has never stopped! Dr. Ariel is an active member of the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, through which she continues to stay up to date on the latest technology, materials, and techniques. She recently obtained her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). Less than 5% of dentists nationwide have achieved this accreditation. She is also taking part in the Pankey Essentials program at the Pankey Institute, one of the most prestigious postgraduate educational institutions in all of dentistry.

What do you like to do outside of the dental office?

Although continuing education and advanced training take up some of her time outside the office, Dr. Ariel spends every moment she can with her son, Reid, and her daughter, Claire. In fact, Reid has become the office mascot because he’s such an inquisitive and talkative toddler! As for hobbies, she loves fishing, reading, and being outside. In fact, one of her goals is to visit all of the U.S. National Parks.
